In this day and age, it’s near impossible to live without some form of technology. You need a phone, or a laptop, or at least an iPad fam. How else will you get to read Zikoko’s gists? Granted, owning a device comes with loads of perks but there are also some annoying things attached like;

1. Saving to buy it in the first place.

Nobody buys a new phone the day they realize they need a new phone, because ain’t nobody got that kind of money lying around waiting to be broke. We all say we are broke in this country.

2. The research you do to find the right fit for your needs.

You want something with Gionee’s battery and iPhone’s camera quality on a 50k budget. Good luck with your search.

3. Repairing it when it spoils.

The entire reason why we have a miscallenous column in our budgets.

4. When the screen cracks.

Oh, the pain! And when you take it to Computer Village they hit you with an amount that sounds like the bill for a new phone.

5. When it gets stolen.

Stealing a person’s phone in Nigeria is like stealing their destiny for a while. No Twitter, no Whatsapp, no Instagram? Kuku kee me.

6. Having to buy a new one when the old one stops being fashionable, especially when it’s an iPhone.

On this note we would like to plead with Apple to calm down with the new iPhones they keep dishing out abeg. Just when you hustle and buy an iPhone 8, you come online to see that your mates are posting selfies with iPhone 12 max.

7. Forgetting your passwords.

It hit worse if you’re using facial recognition and your phone suddenly stops recognizing you. Is this what they call village people at work?
