Nigerians are always dishing out a ton of advice on how to be married and have a successful marriage. And because we like being helpful we curated some of them into this wonderful guide on how to nail being the perfect Nigerian daughter-in-law. Read and learn sis;

1. Be good at cooking a variety of different meals for different people.

 Because you’ll be doing a lot of cooking for a lot of in-laws and family members.

2. Stay at the back if your mother-in-law is riding in the same car as you so she can stay in front.

Don’t even make a fuss about it. We have this debate 4 times a year on social media and the verdict is always the same – in the hierarchy mothers come first.

3. Don’t complain if your mother-in-law walks into your bedroom without knocking.

She is the matriarch, the first and foremost MVP in the family so do well to fall in line.

4. Your career will have to take a backseat.

Between the cooking, cleaning, and taking care of their son you ain’t gone have time for that anyway sis.

5. Make sure you are pregnant a year after the wedding.

2 years is the max. The grandchildren won’t fall from heaven dear. If you’re not pregnant by year 2, it becomes a problem.

6. Hustle for the first child to be a boy.

So that you’ll give your husband an heir to inherit whatever he has. Which could be a job he will eventually retire from and a house he is actually renting. When you really think of it there isn’t anything to inherit. But don’t think of it sis.
