Y’ello Star is a competition-style reality show created by the telecommunications and data services provider, MTN Nigeria, to search for, discover, nurture, expose and launch music talents in young Nigerians.

The show, which aims to serve as a musical platform, premiered on the 7th of November 2020 with 2 shows. Here’s a quick round up of what happened in them.

1) The Show’s Judges Were Introduced

The show’s judges are Banky W, Omawunmi, and Malik Yusef. However, OAP, Olisa Adibua, filled in for Malik Yusef in these episodes.

2) 40 hopefuls who made it through the regional auditions sang for the judges for a chance to make it to the final 13.

After performing, each contestant was either told a YES, NO, or MAYBE.

3) Seven of the hopefuls got a YES.

These seven have made it into the final 13.

4) 12 people got a MAYBE

And these 12 will return during the next show to sing-off for a chance to fill the remaining six spots.

Check out the shows next weekend to see the 12 MAYBEs battle it for the 6 remaining spots.
